Simple Feast raises $33M Series B to help battle climate change

Simple Feast, which develops plant-based food concepts, has raised its Series B from US-based venture capital firm 14W and existing investors, including Balderton.

The company's core product is a pre-made meal subscription that provides high-end, sustainable, and plant-based family-style dinners for 3 evenings per week.

The weekly menus are developed by a team of chefs with experience working in some of Europe’s most acclaimed restaurants and are pre-cooked in the Simple Feast Kitchen, ready to heat and serve in 10 minutes.

“Helping people transition to a plant first lifestyle is pivotal if you want to reverse global warming in the coming decades as well as reversing the explosion in life-style caused diseases. That is why we are in business. We are trying to solve that problem

Jakob Jønck, Simple Feast co-founder and CEO

Simple Feast is constantly innovating to improve the sustainability of its product, in everything from packaging, (made solely by FSC-approved cardboard boxes) to the cooling element they use to keep the food fresh (frozen tap water in drinkable cartons) and the use of all-organic produce.

The new funding will help the company to expand its efforts to new markets, including the US, while also strengthening R&D efforts in new food innovation.
