Probably quantum? An event for really deep thinkers at Balderton HQ

BY BALDERTON

In October, we were delighted to welcome quantum experts to Balderton HQ for a half-day of discussion, followed by dinner.

Panellists included Christopher Savoie, CEO at Zapata, Ilyas Khan, CEO at Cambridge Quantum Computing, Leo Wossnig, CEO at Rahko and Justin Ging, CCO at Honeywell Quantum. It was also great to have researchers from Oxford, Cambridge, UCL and other universities, by investors, and also by representatives of the UK government, including Roger McKinlay, the Challenge Director for Quantum Technologies at UK Research and Innovation. The event started out with an update on the latest thinking about quantum hardware and software; the challenges and opportunities facing quantum algorithms; how investors and industry are approaching quantum software; and ended with networking and breakout sessions. The event was hosted by Lars, Colin and Maxime. Colin wrote up his thoughts after the event here on his Medium. The event was perfectly timed, having just welcomed the team from Rahko to the portfolio, so it was great to have the whole Rahko team joining us. You can read about that news here.
