Congratulations to Balderton portfolio company Sketchfab, who have just closed a $7m Series A round led by FirstMark Capital. We also participated in the round alongside TechStars, Partech and Borealis.
We've long believed that as 3D printing and Augmented & Virtual Reality grow, a central platform would be required to manage 3D assets would become absolutely essential. Alban, Cedric, Antoine and the team at Sketchfab have applied their exceptional talents in this space to build the leading platform.
Sketchfab's integrations with the likes of Facebook, Photoshop and Microsoft Hololens are all testament to what they've achieved. It's great to see them bring on more capital and become the market leaders in such a fast-expanding space.
