Charles-Edouard Bouée is a Senior Executive, Tech Entrepreneur, Investor and Management Thinker.

From 2013 to 2019, he served as CEO of Roland Berger, the only leading strategy consulting firm of European origin, which he led from crisis through transformation to a record year in the firm's 50+ years history.

During his more than 20 years tenure in the consulting industry, Charles-Edouard became a seasoned expert in large-scale strategy and reorganization projects, as well as performance improvement. He specializes in disruptive innovation, new technologies and digital transformation, and has developed particular expertise in Artificial Intelligence.

Today, he is an active investor in deep tech early stage ventures as Founder and Managing Partner of Alpha Intelligence Capital. He also works with various tech companies that have the ambition to equip large corporations and traditional mid-size players with state-of-the art AI to keep them relevant in the global competition. In this capacity, he holds several board positions at startup companies, as well as larger corporations and family offices.

Charles-Edouard has lived and worked in five countries – France, UK, US, Germany, China – and today operates out of New York, Paris and Shanghai/Hong Kong. He sits on the HBS Alumni Board, as well as on the Advisory Board of CEIBS, and is involved in various other business and community organizations around the globe, such as the World Economic Forum’s Global AI Council and the United Nations’ AI for Good Global Initiative. He has authored a number of groundbreaking books on modern management and China, such as China’s Management Revolution – Spirit, Land, Energy (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011), Light Footprint Management: Leadership in Times of Change (Bloomsbury, 2013) and Re-entrepreneuring: How Organizations Can Re-ignite Their Entrepreneurial Spirit (also Bloomsbury, 2018). His latest work on Artificial Intelligence, The Fall of the Human Empire (Bloomsbury, October 2019) was first published by Grasset in March 2017 (original title: La Chute de l’Empire humain), three years after Confucius et les automates (also Grasset, 2014). His books were translated into various languages, including Chinese and Japanese.
