Mantic, the AI forecasting company, has raised $25m in a round led by Radical Ventures, with participation from Balderton, Thinking Machines, DRW, FT Ventures, M12 (Microsoft’s venture fund), Episode 1, Charlie Songhurst and Thomas Wolf.
Mantic builds AI systems that predict real-world events across geopolitics, macroeconomics and business. This summer, it became the first AI to beat every human participant in the Metaculus Cup, the world’s leading forecasting tournament. It came out ahead of all 676 human competitors, including professional forecasters, as well as rival AI startups and frontier models. Only last year, experts believed this milestone was still a decade away.
Some of the world’s leading hedge funds are already using Mantic to forecast market-moving events. Fortune 500 companies use it to inform strategic decisions, from M&A to product launches. Users can create and track personalised forecasts on the issues that matter to their work, with access via API and MCP.
Using Mantic to understand how different events are related, from interest rate rises to congressional races, and supply chain disruptions to hit songs, feels like having a crystal ball. We’re delighted to be backing Ben, Toby and the Mantic team to make complex forecasting, and understanding risks, easier for everyone.
