David is a highly accomplished retailer who has a track record of commercial success within E-commerce, marketing, supply chain and all Multi channel functions. After 16 years at M&S during which he held a variety of roles from International Franchising to Buying and Merchandising, David made a move to Debenhams in 1999.
The respected High Street retailer had begun to develop a Home Shopping business and was showing serious interest in the emerging online marketplace. David established and shaped the role of Merchandising and Supply chain Executive significantly through until 2004, at which point it became clear that the online opportunities were significantly more attractive.
As a result Debenhams appointed David to Head of Online, reporting to Michael Sharp (MD) with a remit to develop the online proposition and re-position it as a central business function, he grew sales to £65M in 4 years and the business has now broken through the £150m mark.
In early 2010 David made a high profile move to Harrods as Director of Harrods Direct, in the same year the business changed ownership when the Qatari Royal family acquired the business following Mr Al Fayed’s 26 year reign at the iconic Knightsbridge store. David left the business in 2012 having re-launched the business to international acclaim.
Now as CEO of my-wardrobe.com David is responsible for growing one of the fashion sector’s most desirable brands. Having been founded in 2006 by Sarah Curran, David has been charged with taking the well-established business to new levels and opening up new international markets.
