Alex is a serial entrepreneur and noted innovator in the payments space. He co-founded iPIN in San Francisco in 1997, a leading online and mobile payments platform, which became Valista in 2004 and is now part of Aepona, generating millions of transactions per day for banks and telecom operators such as Wells Fargo, HSBC, AT&T, Vodafone, BT and France Telecom.  Alex was also the co-founding CTO of San Francisco and London-based mobile payments company Paymo in 2007, which has since merged with Boku, the most ubiquitous mobile payment method globally serving companies like Facebook, Electronic Arts and Zynga.  Until late 2011, Alex was online and payment sector advisor to global private equity firm 3i and venture capital firm Wellington Partners in London.  As venture partner for Wellington Partners, Alex led the latest financing round in eWise and became so inspired with the company’s vision that he moved back to Silicon Valley to join as CEO.  Alex holds a Masters in Communications Systems from EPFL, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.
