Paul Thelen
In 2002, Paul Thelen founded Big Fish Games with $10,000. His vision for a customer-centric, developer-friendly casual games company quickly became a reality and by the late 2000s, Big Fish Games had established itself as the leading casual games destination. Today, as chief strategy officer, Paul is responsible for overall content strategy, including developer and publisher relations for PC, Mac and mobile platforms.
Prior to founding Big Fish Games, Paul spent six years at RealNetworks, culminating in the role of director of consumer marketing. Paul brought to market RealAudio, RealVideo, RealProducer and launched the RealArcade games service.
Earlier in his career, Paul was a business consultant for Mercer Management Consulting, where he developed targeted customer marketing solutions and customer database mining programs for various Fortune 100 companies. Paul currently serves on the board of directors of two consumer-focused Internet companies, Smilebox and MiNeeds.
Paul holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
