WeeWorld Launches in the United States to Give Internet Users Personalized Online Identities throughout Their Digital Life

WeeWorld, creator of the WeeMee, the world's first and most extensive multiplatform visual identity with more than 10 million WeeMees in more than 39 countries around the world, today announced the launch of WeeWorld (www.weeworld.com) in the United States. Today's launch increases WeeWorld's global reach and provides users with a simple, new way to create, update and maintain a consistent, personalized visual identity throughout their entire online and mobile life.

"WeeWorld's approach to social networking, and use of WeeMees as a visual identity, reflects where the Internet is headed -- toward greater graphical richness and more immersive online environments and experiences," said Greg Sterling, founding principal, Sterling Market Intelligence.

My WeeMee and Me

Today's technology-immersive users have multiple opportunities for personal expression online, offline and on their mobile phones. WeeWorld enables users to create their own personalized identity that travels throughout their digital world, allowing them to make each destination and service more fun. WeeMees can be used everywhere from instant messaging, blogs, social networks, Voice Over IP calls, email signatures, forums and message boards to personalized caller ID alerts, wallpapers or picture messages on cell phones.

WeeWorld already boasts global partnerships with many of the world's biggest Internet and mobile organizations, such as MSN, Skype, Vodafone and Motorola. The company today announced an agreement with AOL to allow users of the AIM service, the largest instant messaging community in the United States to create a WeeMee to use within their AIM application. WeeMees will also be available for any AIM user in Canada and throughout the United Kingdom. As the friendly face of AIM(R), users will be able to enhance their instant message window with a unique animated environment, teeming with emotion and visual humor. Surprises are everywhere. As users chat, their WeeMees respond to key words, emoticons and Internet shorthand. WeeMees can be placed in fun and dynamic backgrounds such as Hollywood or a baseball or football stadium. Themed animations happen in every background, such as a user's WeeMee being picked up in a HumVee limo, or joining a cheerleading squad. The experience is available at http://aim.weeworld.com. Please see today's press release, "WeeWorld Teams Up With AOL to Enable AIM Users To Personalize Their Online Identity" to learn more about this partnership.

WeeWorld is the only online personalized identity provider that enables users to carry their alter-ego with them throughout their online and offline lives. For example, international mobile partnerships such as Motorola and Vodafone enable users to extend their digital identity to cell phone picture messages, caller ID alerts and wallpapers. As the company continues to cultivate strategic partnerships with companies such as Skype, MSN and AOL, WeeWorld is poised to become the standard for online/mobile digital expression and personalization.

In addition to WeeMee portability, WeeWorld.com provides interactive games and personalized ecards to send to friends. Users can create WeeBuddies for their friends, keep their own blog and continually update their own WeeMee to express their current mood or daily attire. WeeWorld also plans to evolve into the broader social networking realm by allowing each WeeMee to create and personalize their own space.

With billions of possible configurations, there is a WeeMee for everyone, as users choose their body shape, skin color, hair style, emotion, clothing, accessories, pets, pastimes, passions, pursuits, sports, backgrounds, moods, emotions and feelings.

Expanding WeeWorld

WeeWorld, a Delaware company, opened its North American headquarters in the Boston, Massachusetts area in June 2006 and appointed Lauren Bigelow as General Manager of North America. Bigelow has a background in online portals, community, gaming and mobile applications and joins WeeWorld from Mobot, where she launched groundbreaking mobile visual search promotions as Vice President of Marketing and Product Management. In this role, she will spearhead North American business strategy, drive awareness and lead WeeWorld into the forefront of American digital culture. Bigelow's unique background will help WeeWorld realize its North American business objectives and keep pace with the fast-paced Web and mobile evolution.

WeeMees - Funding Secured

WeeWorld recently secured $15.5 million through its Series B funding, led by Accel Partners and Benchmark Capital, to enable its U.S. expansion, accelerate partner integration and further the company's dominance in the online personalized identity market. WeeWorld completed its Series A round of funding in March 2005 with Benchmark Capital, aiding its fast-track to expand headquarters, grow the WeeWorld team and extend its mobile and Web offerings.

"Expanding WeeWorld to the U.S. market is a tremendous step forward in our ongoing efforts," said Lauren Bigelow, General Manager of North America, WeeWorld. "We are committed to innovation; we offer users creative means to extend their digital expressiveness and are motivated by the opportunities ahead as offline realities and online experiences continue to converge."
