ESPRIT LEADS $13.25 NEWNHAM FUNDING

Esprit Capital Partners has led a $13.25m (€10.5m) second round of funding for fabless semiconductor company Newnham.
Returning investors Atlas Venture and Benchmark Capital also participated in the round, as well as several private investors.
The capital will be used for further development and marketing of Newnham’s interactive networked display software and semiconductor technology.
Newnham launched its USB NIVO product, a low-cost software/semiconductor that transports high-resolution graphics from a PC to a display or multiple displays over USB connections.
Since it was set up in 2003, Newnham has raised a total of $21.75m. Initially based in Newnham Village, Cambridge, it has relocated its headquarters to Palo Alto, California, but its research and development and product development activities are still carried out in the UK.
